While awaiting to meet his crew, he walks around the starbase observation port, amazed at the expansive Cestus IV shipyards. He admittedly wondered which ship was the Columbia, and decided to wait and be pleasantly surprised.

Rosaria stepped off the shuttle as she looked around the ememse shuttle bay. Many crewmen running about still adding the finishing touches to the Columbia. She step briskly as a crewmen just avoiding her as she exited into the corridor. As she step briskly with her PADD in hand, she waves at some familar faces, and sees an empty Turbo lift, she sprints for it, just making it as the doors were closing.
Bridge please.
The trip was shorter then expected as the TL halts and the doors slide open. She steps off looking at the cavernous bridge, as engineers are all about working on consoles and screens.

The Engine room is a mad house as engineers are running about shout. Her hair flustered, as well as her nerves as PADDS are handed to her, shouting out intermix levels, and matter/anti-matter flow ratios. She slams her hands down on the console.
QUIET!!!!!!
She straighten her hair, and her uniform.
Listen people. We have been in Drydock for 4 months, with the same problems. Now I am not going for Month number 5. Now 20 days ago you all assured ne we can fix that, and you did, and now you are having second thoughts. If you are not sure you did the right thing, the Do it now. Because in 12 hours, I'm firing up the Warp core, IS THAT CLEAR!
A choir of Yes sirs are heard.
The do it! Lets GO!

He decides to take his PADD and look at the names of those so far assigned to the Columbia, so that he can get familiar with the names, rather than make a total idiot of himself when he meets his crew.

Commander Elbrun was on the ship, looking a bit harried as she went from department to department, deck by deck, pep-talking and getting people in gear to get things ready for when the new Captain to come aboard. Which he was due in just a couple hours
She had been assigned to the Columbia but instead of reporting straight there, she was informed the ship was in dry dock. That was a month ago.. Now everything was ready, all except Engineering. Three weeks they have been getting things ready with no success. So, she decided to go down herself and see what is taking so long
She stepped out of the TL into engineering and nearly got ran over by a random Ensign. Engineering was chaotic and quite noisy. She can barely here herself think. Someone's voice rose over the noise and called for quiet. She looked at the owner of the voice and saw her straightening her hair and uniform. She listened to her speech and was a little impressed by the pep talk, but her mood was still sour. She stepped up "Lt, you promised me this would be done two weeks ago and you're still not finished? What's taking so long? The Captain is due here in a couple hours and I want to tell him that his ship is ready to depart when he is" She brushed back a couple of stubborn strands of brown hair out of her eyes for it seemed like the hundredth time that day

She jumps a bit hearing the Commander, as she brushed a strand of her out of her face. Her mood went from frustration, to loathing as she loomed before her.
So sorry Commander, I can explain. Seems I got a Boat load of Children here. I send a crew out to correct a problem, just to have another show up minutes later to undo the corrections. I think the pressure is getting to them. I hope it sank in their minds, unless they see a definite problem, Don't Touch it.

She could see that she started the Chief when she jumped at her voice. Her empathic senses registering the changing of moods in the other woman. She backed off a step to give the other woman room. She listened to the Explanation from the Chief and she couldn't resist a smile, hearing her comment that she must have children as officers
She merely nodded as she heard the chief mention that the pressure must be getting to them "The pressure seems to be getting to all of us, trying to get this ship out of space dock. Even I am not immune to it, so I apologize if I came out a little harsh. I agree that if it isn't broken, don't touch it. Keep me appraised on your progress"
She waited to hear a response from the other woman

I promise you this ma'am. 12 hours she will be ready for a full Warp power stress test. Or I will personally pull the ship myself out of dry dock.
So confident she was of this she smiled, as she brushed the opposite bang from her face.

She openly smiled at that, feeling the confidance in the Chief's statement "I will hold you to the promise, Lt" She said, her eyes twinking with humor, watching her brush another bang out of her eyes. She had a sudden urge to run her fingers through the Lt's hair but she quelled that, wondering where that urge suddenly came from

He arrives on the Bridge, and spots Rosario gazing at the engineers about working on the bridge.
They assured me that the Bridge would be more quiet then sickbay. But I see that is not the case. Hello Ensign, I am Turok, Chief Medical Officer.

She turns to see something she never saw before. A Vulcan expressing emotion. She sees his slight smile, as he extended his hand to shake hers, and she complies.
Commander. So sorry I was....well I......I'm Ensign Mendez, Chief Science Officer.

He shows a generous smile, and slight chuckle.
I know. Quite a shock from a hearty "Live long, and prosper". No I have not purged my emotions. Always had them, and plan to always will. Tell you what, it makes no sense setting up your station,. The sickbay is a mess, so lets go to the lounge and get to know each other better.

She is quite taken back wondering Did he just make a move on me? Or is he sincere?.
True. Until they finish patching the power buses I can't even align the sensors. I guess a few hours in the lounge won't hurt.

They would arrive in the Lounge sometime later, with various crewmen relaxing, and some chatting away about the ship, systems, and their new Commanding officer. Turok pulls out a seat for his charming guest, and keeps a broad, somewhat flirtatious smirk. Then he goes to the other end and takes his seat as a waiter comes over.
Oh....just an Iced Tea for me...with lemon. Amd you Ensign.
As he sees the waiter take her order a few passerby's says hello to the unusually happy Vulacan Doctor, he returns his attention to her.
Your first assignment I take?

She smiles as she takes her seat. Looking at the other crewmen about yjeir business. Not use to being on a ship this size, yet she still feels at home.
Oh...Ice tea will be fine. The same.
She looks contritely at Turok. Very mesmerized by his smile and demeanor.
Yes it is. I thought I would be assigned a Nova Class. But I was assigned at Starbase 25 for a short time. All of a sudden they started shipping everyone off. I guess I got caught in the wave. Tell me, have you been on this ship long?
