Seeing another officer in a command uniform, with what appeared to be the rank of commander, he approaches the female officer.
"Request permission to come aboard?"

She stood there watching as the Captain emerged from the back of the shuttle, with the shuttle's pilot. She watched him approach and she put on a friendly smile
"Permission Granted, Captain Ijoula and welcome aboard the USS Columbia. I am Commander Wilma Elbrun, Ship's First Officer"

"A pleasure, commander."
He would return the smile and extend his hand.
"I deeply regret that there won't be time to have a formal reception, at least not until we have successfully dealt with a potential crisis situation. Not exactly my first pick for a maiden voyage, but....
We could be seeing some combat before we get very far."

She extended her own hand to shake the Captain's "The pleasure is mine, Captain. They hadn't told me how handsome you look"
Her smile faded when she listened to the Captain as their wont be a formal reception, as their was a crisis already jumping right out of the gate "I imagine not that it's a first choice for a maiden voyage but do you know what the Crisis may be"?
"Should I call all officers to battle stations"?

He was kind of surprised at the compliment, not having expected that, but was
"Thank you. It's not often I get told that."
He admittedly blushed a little bit.
"All I know right now is that there's a potential for combat. We will need all the maneuverability, shielding, and weaponry we can get our hands on.
I have read about the engine difficulties of late, and I hope those can get taken care of. Captain Morgan on Starbase 140 gave me a timeline for this situation as within seventy-two hours. Fleet Admiral Lucifel was serving for a diplomatic mission, but I have no idea as of yet what's happened with that mission. If it goes sour, then we'll need to be ready for anything."
He ponders for a moment.
"However, I would be more than open to the idea of a formal reception once we get past all of this."
With that said, and having shaken the commander's hand, he looks toward the doors leading to the corridor as he hears the announcement about the warp core stress test, silently praying that they'd be 'up to snuff', as humans would say.

Science to Engineering all science controls are operating nominal.

She watches as the Warp core lights up and glows as the power begins to pulse inside. She looks at the Console and then to the right.
Mitchell, keep an eye on the core integrity, take her directly to 100%
He turns to her?
100%? Thats not proper procedure Lieutenant.
I learned one thing in my 5 years Crewman. When the Captain says he needs Warp Power now, It happens. 100% on my word.....and Mark![/b][/color]

She would feel a bit of surprise coming from the captain. She was surprised herself to see the Captain blush at the compliment. She would have commented further but the captain had launched into business

"Yes, Captain. I spoke with the Chief Engineer herslef and she as assured me that we will have warp power or she would get out and literally push us out of space dock herself" She fought to hide a smile from peeking through
She heard the announcement for the warp core stress test and hoped everything would go well
Yes, Captain. I am sure everyone would be open to the idea of the reception once everything had calmed down" She started walking with him after shaking his hand "Although I have a bad Tactical report. We only have 90 quantum torpedos and if this crisis leads to full scale battle, we will be running short rather quickly. I know we need a bigger supply of torpedos"

He chuckled a little at the remark, as Brexen had occasionally made a statement like that before when the Thunderchild and Incursion would have occasional engine woes.
"We'll just have to be sparing in the use of our torpedoes, and rely heavily on our phasers. With any luck, we'll get some more in before we find ourselves in combat."

She heard him chuckle a bit at her saying the Engineering Chief would push the ship out herself if the warp core was not done on time. She couldn't help but giggle a little "I told her that I would hold her to that promise" She giggled a bit more, doubting Moragami would let them down. Then she sobered
"Should we see any combat, I'll advise the Tactical Officer to use our torpedos sparingly, until we can get more, and rely more on phasers. I just hope we won't have to face anything heavily armored or we may as well be shooting rocks"

He nods toward her at the recommendation toward the tactical officer.
"Alright. I hope our pilot is as fast at maneuvering as the service record says. If we're going to be in battle, I don't want us to be hit easily."
He walks out of the shuttle bay and down the corridor, looking around at the ship with a hint of sadness that her first mission would likely be one where she'd be back in dock to be patched up so soon after her launch.

She nods thoughtfully "I hope so as well, Captain. I don't relish the idea of bouncing from one end of the bridge to the other as the ship is tossed about with enemy fire"
She followed him out of the shuttle bay and walked with him down the corridor. Her empathic senses picking up the sense of sadness from him and she is curious as to what the Captain is thinking

The second shuttle lands just minutes after the shuttle with the Captain on it does....went the hatch open in the back N'thek walks out. As with all Vulcan, he isn't taken by the size or the beauty of the Columbia....he just think that this ship is between him and getting back home....A though that makes his wonder why Starfleet Command was sending him here.

The Flyer comes in for a soft landing, he power down the shuttle and opens the rear hatch.
OK People, we better rush to our stations. There is a Warp Core Stress test in progress.
He gets up from his seat and follow N'thek out, noticing him looking at the emmense hangar.
Hey. We need to get up to the bridge. You coming?
