Yes Fish, or as my father called it Fishing. We would hunt for worms for Bait. Right now, our Warp core is the worm.
Hearing Mylantra she responds.
Melina, get us there, but only using Reaction thrusters. I want a nice slow approach. Anise, stad by on weapons. I want power cut, I only want weapons, and sensors.

Melina plots a course, and hits the appropriate controls to send the Crusader floating off towards the Warpcore.
We Have forward motion. Estimate to rendevouz with the Core in 23.5 minutes.

She turned to the commander as he spoke to her "Tremayne....try to get an subspace coded message to SB140 or any other Starfleet ships in this sector...tell them of our location and what is happening here."
"Yes, sir. I just tried to contact the Crusader but there is no reponse. I'll need to go back to the shuttle to send the subspace message."
She goes back to the shuttle to send the subspace message, their coordinates, a status report and tried to contact the Crusader with the shuttle's comm link. No luck
She returned to the group, looking a little glum

Having gotten up from the captain's chair when she saw the captain come up, she then nods and heads over to the tactical station, and brings weapons to bear, ready for anything that may come in.
"Thankfully, we have weapons control back. Phasers charging, and forward quantum torpedoes are standing by. Shields are back up to 58%, though. Whatever they hit us with, I'm pretty sure we won't be able to survive another hit from that super-weapon. I should be able to keep the shields together if conventional weapons are used, though, but it'll be a bumpy ride when they start firing.."

Karo smiled and closed his tricorder, slipping it into the pocket of his lab coat.
"Hey, welcome back. I'm glad to tell you, you'll be fine. You sustained quite a set of burns and a few lacerations. The burns to your airway were most pressing but we've got those healed up. You're voice is just going to be scratchy for now."
Pulls up a stool and sits next to the bio bed.
"I've got the rest of your burns managed and you shouldn't be in any pain with the meds you're on. If you need more, just let the nurse know. With the volume of patients we're dealing with I can't get to the neat and pretty work yet. I promise if we make it out of here you'll be good as new. Right now, however, I'm going to keep you comfortable. I just need your patience."

On the Romulan ship, they finished repairs, and the search continues.
Commander, the Radiation effect is clearin. I spotted a sporadic energy reading some 350,000 kilometers away. I'm also picking up an object some 275,000 kilometers. It appears to be their Warp core.
Is it still functional?
Affirmative.
Go into stealth mode, and get us there. Keep scanning. They will attempt to retrieve it, and thats when we will have them. Have the weapon ready.[/b][/color]

She looks to the screen as she talks to Anise.
Lets assume this enemy wants us out of the way. If they see our Warp core, they will figure we want it back. If so, they will lay a Trap. If you are correct about that weapon attraction to a strong warp field, they won't be able to lock on to us with it.

She nods in response.
"If they were to use that weapon near our exposed warp core, it would detonate, and the resulting explosion would be of such magnitude that it would destroy them and us, if we're anywhere near the core when it blows. Even using conventional weapons, they would need to aim carefully so as to avoid accidental contact with the core.
Tactically, I would think they would try to keep our core from us, knowing that normally, we can't be at full power without it. However, I asked Engineering to have all fusion reactors ready to bring online, so as to compensate, and we are close to our normal full power availability, should it be needed."
She turns her attention back to the passive scans.
"Motion sensor reading, captain. Faint, but it's there... moving slowly..."

Jules laid unconscious on the biobed, her face still contorted in some sort of pain from the large piece of console and bulkhead that had been lodged in her back from the inherit explosion. Her dark eyes were squeezed shut, and she made little moans of discomfort every so often, her body rigid.

Keep a lock on that Number one. Melina, try to trim our spped so when we meet them they are within 5 kilometers of the warp core. I'm taking a chance here. But it's the best shot we got. Ainesa, set up Quantum torpedoes maximum yield, with contact detonators. If we miss, I don't want to hit our Warp core.

As she hears the Captains orders she adds a slight course correction making the ship slide a bit towards a large piece of debri, effectively slowing it, and then angled back towards the warp core.
Speed reduced by 26%

"Understood."
She works the tactical controls with almost musical finesse, like what she displayed during the recital, and adjusts the warhead settings.
"Quantum torpedoes ready. Warheads set for maximum yield and to detonate on contact. Phaser banks are also fully charged, and set for narrow angle beam. Hopefully the narrower beam setting will be able to slice through their armor easier than a wider beam."
