Smiles hearing Hanes response.
Probe configured sir. We can only send a short message sir. What would you like it to say?

He pondered the possibilities for a short message, knowing that the Tholians might pick up on it.
"Make it just one word. 'Expedition.' The admiral will know that it came from me, and that we're on the way."
He glanced again at Hanes.
"Steady as she goes.. Bring us out of warp in weapons range of the carrier. With any luck, we'll have the element of surprise, and be able to at the very least disable the carrier before they know what hit them.
Set photon torpedoes for an arrowhead dispersal pattern. With several torpedoes hitting the same exact spot at nearly the exact same time, that should rip the carrier apart."
He ponders another phrase that entered his mind, a Klingon proverbial saying that Brexen had heard before.
"Let's show the Tholians how much we 'appreciate' their handiwork at Starbase 140 and the Cestus Shipyards. After all, isn't 'revenge a dish that is best served cold?'" he would glance toward T'hpok as he said the last part, with a slight grin.

Noticing N'thek has returned, she nods to him as he launches the probe. Probe Launched sir. But we have a Tholian ship bearing 1 mark 1 dead ahead. It's kind of big, looks like a carrier.

She checks the reading s from her console. There are several dozen ion trails that eminate from it. It must of launched all it's fighters. A strike on them now would be possible Captain.

Crio glances toward N'Thek.
"I want to get the jump on them. Mister N'Thek, how fast can you get a target lock?
Miss Mendez, is there any indication of the same kind of reinforced hull like the ships we encountered back at the starbase?"

Indications are negative sir for the must part. They heavily shielded the Engines and lower compartments, as well as the control center. But I she weakness in the upper decks amid ship.

"Very well. N'Thek, set your target. We may only get one pass before we have to jump back to warp to try to head off the rest of their fighters before they reach the admiral's ship, so make every shot count.
Bridge to Engineering, we'll be dropping out of warp for several seconds to engage a cruiser, but then I'd like to be able to jump back to maximum sustainable speed. Can you make that possible, Chief?"

She picks up another contact.

A broad smile crosses Crio's face, and nods at the report, happy that the USS Federation survived.
"Any fighters in pursuit of them? As soon as we hit the carrier, I want to take out any pursuers of the Federation."

She checks her console. Detecting atleast 23 ships in pursuit sir. She's coming in hot. They have no shield, and targeting sensors appear offline. I think they going on a torpedo run.

Dodging incoming flack, Derrick lines up the Carrier as the Columbia heads in to firing range. We should get a clean clear shot.

Crio watched the screen as the Columbia came closer to the Tholian carrier.
"Take it out!"
He remembered the report about Vanessa's ship, and quickly sorted out the next course of action.
"Mister Hanes, as soon as that carrier goes, bring us around on an intercept course for the admiral's ship, but on an attack run for those fighters that are in pursuit of them. N'Thek, I want to see fireworks where those fighters are when we get there."

The Federation unleash 3 Rapid fire Torpedoes, as she then pulls hard to Starboard. The Carrier sits as it tries to adjust course. But a broadside blast catches it in midship from the Columbia. The Torpedoes score a direct hit on the Carriers forward Lanch bay doors. The fire frantically at the Federation, missing it barely, then re engage the Columbia, but a set of 4 Photon torpedoes hit the ship Broadside staring a cascade of destruction. The Federation sweeps by and veers off to the Starboard as the Columbia sweeps up over the inflamed Carrier. then a succession of phaser fire starts picking off each Tholian ship one by one. The ungoing display rivaled a fireworks display of enormous proportions. Suddenly the last 6 ships break off and high tail it, as the Carrier engulfs into a huge fireball.
