She paused to consider her words. He waited patiently, watching her. She then apologized if her words seemed a bit direct. He smiled at her, assuring her that her words did not seem to direct. At least to someone like him. He is a Betazoid. They can be known for their directness and talk about things usually reserved for private matters
He smiled a little wider when she said she was unmated but then that smile faded a bit when she explained that her husband stayed behind when the Captain of his ship, Captain Lucifel, now Admiral, had ordered her ship to ram into another one. Her husband elected to stay behind to help other crew members instead of going to save just himself. He nodded a bit, thinking he would do the same thing "It seems the logical thing to do to stay behind to make sure other members of the crew made it to safety. In the same situation, I would have done the same thing. I am sure he was doing what he thought was best. My condolences for your loss, S'helar" He wanted to reach out and hug her, to comfort her but he presumed she would not wish that type of closeness. After 5 years, he presumed again she had done her mourning for her husband
Five years without physical contact? That's a long time, he mused but then she said she wasn't seeking any contact but that didn't rule out any possibility of a relationship of her choosing. He smiled a little and turned the Betazoid charm on a little "You are a beautiful woman, S'helar. I am certain any male aboard would count himself lucky should you decide to choose one of them to be in a relationship, myself included. I would like to make myself available to you and give you that possibility should you decide to pursue it" Even if she didn't, he would make himself available to assist her in any she needed assistance

As the Turbo lift comes to a halt, the doors open, and she steps out as the Commander follows. She listens.
That is very generous Commander, but not necessary. Besides, most humanoids suffer emotional lack of control. Mind you I don't wish you to suffer this, I am sure I will be able to find a suitable mate if need be.
Just then they reach her quarters, she stops and pauses, and turns to the commander.
Commander, I know what the others say about me. Seems they don't know about Vulcan hearing. I am not this "Ice Queen" that they lead you to believe. Just that for the past 3 years I have to cope with the lost of my husband, and keep up with my 3 children. I enjoy you company, and possibly tomorrow we can have breakfast be we return to work. Ubtil then Commander, good night. She enters her quarters as the door swooshes shut behind her.

He let her step out of the Turbo Lift ahead of him and then followed her out. He stepped up to walk with her as she walked down the corridor. He listened to her words and he agreed, it's not necessary but he wanted to pursue her and perhaps become her mate, but only if she wished it in return "I am certain as well that you will find a suitable mate when the desire strikes you but I can assure you that my mental and emotional stability is quite stable and in no danger of becoming unstable"
He stopped when they reached her quarters and listened as she turned to him, listened as she spoke of what others call her "The Ice Queen". He heard the term as well and he didn't think it suited her. He had considered correcting those who had uttered the cold nickname but it was a personal issue and not something he should get involved with. Although, for her, he would consider it. He knew the myth that Vulcans have no emotions but deep down, he knew they did, they were just suppressed
His eyes widened a bit in surprise when she revealed that she had three kids. She is full of surprised, he mused, although he presumed that it wasn't her intention to surprise him. When she finished and turned to enter her quarters, he said to her "I don't always believe what I hear, S'helar. Good Night and pleasant dreams"
As the door shut, he smiled, liking the idea of spending time with her during breakfast, but then a yawn escaped him and he thought he liked the idea of sleep at the moment better
He turned and walked down the corridor to his own quarters, thinking it was only natural to mourn a loved on, no matter how long it took. It only proves that she loved him very dearly and love, he knew, is a very strong emotion
Entering his quarters, he went straight to bed

Admirals Log stardate: 66670.86
The Warp core for the USS Avenger arrived 3 Days ago, and work has been progressing fast on the ship. The Hull damage is nearly completed, and Lt Ruel assures me he will have her ready for action before the week is end as long as nothing goes wrong. That statement right there has me worried. As does not a word from the Columbia. Yet Cassiopia seems convinced her mother will be home soon, I still has misgivings. Perhaps Maxx was correct keeping me from going to Tholian space with the Avenger, but I swear if she is dead because of this, I'll never forgive him.

She strolls into the the ships Mess room and sees Cai sitting alone as usual with her Breakfast, and she takes a seat next to her. The Mess is primarily spartan and not busy with only 8 crewmen there as most prefer to eat on the Starbase. She sits and smile.
Of all the places to eat in this dive, you come here? She says jokingly.

She gives a small smile, as she chews a bit of her breakfast,
Actually Warrant Officer Falor is going to meet me. We are working on the repairs in the Weapons bay. Speaking of repairs, did the warp core come today?

About 4 hours ago I'm told. They are installing it now, but there seems to be a problem, and the Admiral is going to blow a Gasket. The USS Provider was attacked, and we never got the injectors.

That is not good. Is there anyway we can obtain them?

There is an Ferengi Cargo ship at Belatrix that has them, but we need to send someone to retrieve them. The pribe will be high, but I believe price is no object in this.

As he left his quarters the next day, the stress on his face was apparent. The PADD he had in his hand told him of the delima they have to resolve. Literally storming down the corridor to the Turbo Lift. All officers could see his anger as they quitly saluted as he passed. As he finally arrived to the Observation lounge he walks to the Viewport, and looks at the Avenger in the repair bay and lets out a small sigh. He pauses momentarily, and taps his combadge. Commander Quinn, I want you, and the rest of the Command staff in the Repair Bay Briefing room. Immediately!. He didn't even wait for a response as he turned and headed out to the briefing room.

After getting a good night's sleep, he woke up and was ready to face the day and it's challenges.
Showering, getting dressed and drinking a quick cup of coffee, he headed out and thought of asking Commander S'helar to share morning meal with him
He rang the door chime to her quarters then his comm badge chirped and Admiral Lucifel's voice called to him, ordering him to get the command staff and have them report to the Repair bay Briefing room, immediately. From the sound of it, he did not sound very happy. This confirmed by his empathic senses.
He reached up and tapped his badge, answering the Admiral "Yes, Admiral. I shall inform the command staff right away"
He then smiled to himself, thinking he could tell S'helar in person. That way he could walk with her to the meeting

S'helar was punctual as always. as she left her quarters, her instinct was to check in with the Commander. She stood at his door as she press the door chime, and waits paitently for an rply.

I materialize in the transporter room at SB140 and see a different surrounding. I breathe a sigh of relief, smile and mumble "Thank You Miria". I nod at the transporter chief and head out the door towards the Admirals office not looking forward to the talk I'm about to have.

He blinked when he realized Cmdr S'helar wasn't in her quarters. She must have gone out already, he thought to himself. Perhaps she heard about the meeting already and was on her way
A quick empathic scan of the star base told him otherwise. She was waiting at his quarters, waiting for him. He turned and quickly high-tailed it back to his quarters
A couple minutes pass before he jogged down the corridor to his quarters. He would see Cmdr S'helar there, patiently waiting. He slowed to a walk as he approached "Apologies, Commander. I presumed that I was supposed to meet you at your quarters, but that is a mute point. The Admiral wishes the senior staff to meet in the Repair bay Briefing Room. Immediately, he ordered. From the tone of his voice, something has upset him"
With that, he tapped his comm badge "All Avenger senior staff is to meet in the Repair Bay Briefing Room, as of now. Quinn out"
He paused to hear what S'helar would say and to walk with her to the meeting

Seeing the Commander finally approach she listens to him about the Admirals latest orders.
Actually, I was here for breakfast. But if the Admiral has called us, we can postpone it to Lunch, or in this case dinner. I doubt the Admiral has any good news for us.
