Post by Admiral Ashley Morgan on Jun 17, 2009 12:00:45 GMT -5
This is Vice Admiral Ashley Morgan of the Starship USS Constitution.
Today....will live in infamy. The Combined civilizations of the Alpha, and Beta Quadrant stand united against an enemy who prove gated an attack on their neighbors for no valid reason.
Today, the Tholians, and the Remans, using a new type of technology laid waste to over 1,000 ships. Killed Millions. Destroyed military, and civilian installations. They have attacked and occupied 14 planetary systems. And laid waste to nearly 50 shipyards.
The Romulan, and Cardassian Governments are in shambles as their capitals were destroyed. Many of our friends, loved ones, and fellow officers are dead. Including Admiral Vanessa Ann Lucifel.
By order of Starfleet Command, I have been promoted to the rank of Full Admiral, and placed as Acting Commander in Chief of the 14th Fleet. This is a honor I take with deep regret.
As we speak now, our home port is in shambles. Cestus Ship Yards has been decimated. The USS Challenger.....destroyed in dry dock. Of the 28 ships that fought in the battle, only 2 remained battle ready. We are now speeding to the Archanis system to render aid to the Klingons and uproot the Tholian Occupation there. The USS Columbia will hopefully find the USS Federation, and her crew, in hopes that the Admiral has survived. My standing orders are.
- All ships that are damaged are to be placed in Dry dock, and repaired, and placed back in service immediately.
- All fighting vessels will join up with us in the Archanis system.
- Vice Admiral Maxwell Gunn will assume all fleet operations in recovering data from the Tholians ships, and pass along intelligence to defeat these heathens.
- All Science vessels, and Deep space exploration vessels are ordered to continue their mission. If confronted by any of the enemy forces, they are to do get intelligence of fleet actions, and report. If you have an opportunity to score a blow, then please do so.
I am not worthy of the burden of this command on such a sad date. But mind you all, we will avenge the Challenger, and punish those who saw to her destruction.
Morgan out.

Not one of the best of paitients, she was overjoyed for a Vulcan to finally be release. She awaited in one of the Starbase lounges staring out the View port as she sat, watching the repairs on the Avenger commence. Her thoughts were no visbile emotionally on her face, yet her mind raced as for the circumstances that had gotten them here. She was hoping the Admiral, or Commander would come by before volunteering to serve in the Medbay.

By the time Cai came to, she could make out a familiar silhouette, and warm smile of Lt Duvall. She broke a small smile, as her voice a little hoarse from the period she been unconscious. That was some fancy flying Heidi.

She smiles as the Ensign comes to. Look who's talking. Quite a feat for an Ensign to take out a Battle cruiser. I doubt you will be an Ensign for long. Try to relax, you been in surgery for 4 hours. You don't want to know the extent of damages you had.

The Avenger got one of her wings clipped, but she will be back up and running in 3 weeks. No fatalities, just everyone got banged up badly. The Commander had nothing but praise for you under the circumstances. Your one little tough cookie.

..."you're a little bruised up and you'll hurt for a while. When you were brought in you were on the verge of collapse from exhaustion. You slept for 3 days straight, but all in all I think your in good shape. Not the best, but you're lucky to be alive after the pounding you took. I'm going to keep you here one more day just to make sure, then you're free to go. I'm sure your anxious to get back to duty."
The doctor turns off the scanner, looks at me and smiles.
"My duty? *laugh* The Avenger was almost shredded by the Tholians. She wasn't ready. I kept telling and telling starfleet and the captain, she wasn't ready. No one listened. No one cared. Not about me or engineering."
"Keep her running Mr Reul, no matter what it takes. And now the whole senario starts over again. 3 weeks to a refit. I've already lost 3 days being here and you want to keep me here for another."
"Ensign, the refit isn't scheduled to begin until tomarrow. If you behave here, I'll release you so you can go, but I'm not releasing you until I am 100% sure you won't drop from exhaustion. You won't be doing any one or yourself any good by pushing yourself to the brink. So you just sit here and get some more rest. I'll come back and checkup on you."
As she was about to leave I grab her arm. "Doc, the crew. How bad?"
"no fatalities, just alot of banged up people." she smiles and walks away.
I lay on the bed and stare at the ceiling, already thinking about the changes I'm going to make on the Avenger.

By the time Miria came out of her deep slumber, she had no feeling. Like her entire body was numb. She could make out voices as the trail on as they were spoken.
"Doc, the crew. How bad?"
"no fatalities, just alot of banged up people."
She struggled to speak, although it came out weakly.
Jon!........Jon!
She started to cough as the doctor came over and smiled as she was surprised to see her awoken.
Relax Ensign Mordak. The anesthetic is slowly wearing off. You will be numb for at least 30 more minutes. She blinked and gave a slight nod.

By the time Deragon made it to the Lounge. His mind was wrapped in his worries about his wife. He was somewhat soothed by his daughter's words, but knew they were still a long way from Safety. He entered the lounge, and marched directly to a View port to see the damage on the Avenger. He was awed, looking at the massive tear in the Port nacelle. The Battered hull, as work bees began to descend on the vessel. He looks un wavered by the sight as he is in shock.
My God! How many did we loose?

She was not certain that the Admiral was aware of her presence, yet she approached him as she See's the shocked look on his face.
My God! How many did we loose?
None. The crew fought Valiantly. I believe several commendations should be given out to Ensign Nyung, and Lieutenant Duvall. Their actions combined saved the ship, and the crew.

Having returned to Star base 140, with the aid of the Javelin. He was shocked at how much damage that was done.
He checked himself out in sickbay but he was quickly released since he had no severe wounds. He walked around a bit, looking around at all the damage that was done. 140 didn't fair much better then the Avenger, he mused
He found himself walking into the lounge, finding Commander S'helar there, speaking with Admiral Lucifel near the viewport
He walked up to the both of them and heard the tail end of what S'helar was saying The crew fought Valiantly. I believe several commendations should be given out to Ensign Nyung, and Lieutenant Duvall. Their actions combined saved the ship, and the crew.
He stood at attention in front of the Rear Admiral "I concur, Admiral, but I would like to add one more to that group. Engsign Jon Reul. If it wasn't for his ingenuity and his idea to modify a quantum torpedos into a Anti Matter torpedo, we might not be standing here today"

If it wasn't for his ingenuity and his idea to modify a quantum torpedos into a Anti Matter torpedo, we might not be standing here today. Quite taken with the Damage on the Avenger, he pauses. I heard you managed to take one of those Bastards down. Mr Quinn......you wrecked my ship.......and earned my respect. He turned to him, and gave him a job well done handshake, and a pat on the back. As soon as the crew is fit, I want a meeting in this Lounge. For the bravest crew in Starfleet.

He glanced out the viewport where the Avenger was docked and he could see plainly where the nacelle was sheared off and he visably winced, realizing anew just how lucky they were
He turned back to the Admiral as he spoke. He grinned a bit as the Admiral shook his hand and patted him on the back "I do apologize for 'wrecking' your ship, Admiral but it was necessary to take out their Battle cruiser" He was just glad they weren't taken out in the process

Well, the best part is we can give her a Proper Refit this time. And I know our Engineer will love to hear that. Command S'helar. I remember you asking me for a transfer back to Starfleet medical. The USS Trinity is outside the Starbase if you still wish.... She cuts him off.
