E'Lita was in her small office in Sickbay, sitting at her desk, tapping on her computer terminal.
"Computer, begin log."
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63241.963 (January 7, 2387)."
"My name is Ensign E'Lita Jarani. I have been stationed on this ship for a month or so now and have just gotten the time to record a personal log. I have a Doctorate of Starfleet Medical, hence why I was assigned as the Chief Medical Officer of the USS Crusader NCC-51492."
She reached over to her left and grabbed her mug of Trillius Tea with lemon. She sipped it and enjoyed its flavor sensation that washed over her tastebuds.
"After dealing with twelve Romulans we captured earlier on last month, we were decorated by the Generations Fleet Admirals. It was a lovely occasion that brought up the morale of the crew. Afterward, we went to a Yuletide celebration that turned into a mess.. I won't go into it."
She laughed and sipped the warm tea again before putting it back on the desk.
"Today I spent my shift unpacking medical supplies that we received from Starbase 140. Supplies that we needed--badly. Ensign FetchStorm helped me. He's a Felinoid who is very sweet despite his large size. Major 8 of 12 paid us a visit and helped to sterilize the biobeds. Overall, it was a productive day. I know this is the calm before the storm of our new mission."
She smiled and tapped on her computer terminal, putting the final touches on some files.
"Computer, end log."

E'Lita was in her office in Sickbay, staring at her computer terminal screen, right hand rubbing her temples.
"Computer, begin log."
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63260.2909 (January 14, 2387)."
"I began today in Sickbay, trying to put supplies away that we acquired from Starbase 140. Supplies that we desperately needed. To be honest, the crates were so heavy, I had to unload them from the place they'd been beamed near the doors to Sickbay."
She sighed and looked up at the LCARS panel on the bulkhead in front of her.
"Storm, a very charming Felinoid, came in to Sickbay looking for a job to do. I put him to work helping me move the crates closer to the ampoule rack, supple cabinets, and supply lockers. He was eager to do so. Major 8 of 12 also came in and wanted to lend a hand. Storm and he seemed to have animosity for each other, though I don't know why. Anyway, we put most of the ampoules away when I was called to the Bridge."
She paused, grabbing her steaming mug of lemon tea and sipped it.
"I reached the Bridge and Captain Greene briefed us on why she changed our course and mission. Apparently, we are to join with a Klingon escort fleet to find some Orion pirates. I was asked by the Captain if I would perform an autopsy on anyone we capture. Of course I would!" She smiled. "It would be an extraordinary chance to explore a new lifeform. After the briefing, I went back to Sickbay to begin briefing my medical staff. We're all prepared for what may come soon."
"Computer, end log."

E'Lita stood in the morgue on the USS Crusader. All the trays with instruments for a possible autopsy were laid out before her as well as a gurney. She held a PADD in her hand and tapped on it to begin voice recording.
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63333.6 (February 11, 2387)."
"At the beginning of my shift today, I was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. It came as a complete surprise!"
She looked down at her new black pip and gave a slight smile before continuing on.
"Right now, my staff and I are preparing for a possible autopsy for when the Away Team gets back onboard. We had been pursuing a vessel that looked similar to us.
The information I have is that there are no lifesigns onboard and they are a possible hostile race. There is also something else on board that makes me uneasy and I wish to have answers as soon as I can."
She sighed and turned away from her staff who were preparing the morgue area. She felt dread lodged in her gut and it was twisting her stomach into knots.
"I feel sick to my stomach right now with the waiting. Is the Away Team okay? Are they in danger? I'm not certain right now. All I know is that whatever is on that ship is something we don't want to meet face to face."
She tapped on her PADD and ended the log.

E'Lita was once again in her office in Sickbay. The computer terminal was in front of her on her desk and she was looking over Orion physiology.
"Computer, begin log."
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63351.927 (February 18, 2387)."
She tapped the computer terminal to zoom in on the diagram.
"The waiting was almost unbearable for the Away Team to come back from the doppelganger ship. No lifesigns had been detected aboard the ship, so we assumed I'd need to do an autopsy on one of the cadavers aboard to see exactly who was impersonating us."
She paused and put her chin in the palm of her left hand, green eyes still on the diagram.
"Who was found there was unexpected. An Orion woman was found onboard who looked like a clone of our Captain, although I heard personality-wise she wasn't. And she wasn't dead. She was the only survivor aboard the ship. When she was found, she was holding a trilithium bomb that could have destroyed not only her ship, but ours too. Lt. Vicky Love was sent over in a shuttle to retrieve the Away Team and the Orion woman, since the transporters weren't able to transport them. They got back to the ship and we got away before the trilithium bomb exploded."
She grabbed her mug of tea and sipped on it.
"I don't have to do an autopsy afterall, but that woman was captured and brought onboard. I would like to do some tests on her to see exactly who and what she is."
Another paused ensued and she watched her new assistant, FetchStorm-to-Vensre putting the trauma trays back into the storage lockers.
"On another note, Storm asked me out. I usually don't date my colleagues, but Storm is the exception."
She smiled and pushed back from her desk, standing up and walking out of her office into main Sickbay.
"Computer, end log."

E'Lita was laying on a biobed in Starbase 140's Infirmary. She was in severe pain despite the Morpehnolog routinely given to her every few hours. She held a PADD in her hand and tried to tap out her personal log.
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63425.236363636366 (March 18, 2387)."
She tried to shift her position, but winced when she moved her chest. Several ribs had been broken among other injuries.
"Over the past month, my time has been little, so I could not record a personal log. The events of the last month have been extreme to say the least. Our Away Team brought back a prisoner, a clone of our Captain named Nova. Her DNA and RNA are practically the same, except it contains a Mnemonic code in it. She seemed like she was degrading slightly when I took the DNA/RNA sample and examined it. I thought at first I had read it wrong. I was right--there was a self-destruct sequence programmed into it.
I was a fool to examine it on this ship, even though it was the Captain's orders. I should have known that the self-destruct sequence could activate. I've realized anything is possible. Why couldn't separated DNA/RNA strands still be active?
With further research into the strand, the self-destruct sequence was activated and caused a shockwave through the ship from Sickbay. It rendered my entire Medical Staff unconscious, including Storm and myself. Luckily, there were no fatalities. Now, I am stuck here in the infirmary on Starbase 140, waiting to be debriefed on our mission and find out more about Nova.."
She tapped on her PADD and ended the personal log.

E'Lita was now more stressed than ever as she sat in the Infirmary on SB140. She was now on duty for now since Fleet Admiral Vanessa A. Lucifel ordered everyone back to their stations on a yellow alert.
"Computer, begin log."
"USS Crusader's Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63461.89090909091 (April 1, 2387)."
"I was just released from the Infirmary about four hours ago after sustaining injuries from my failed attempts to understand the Mneumonic DNA/RNA in the Sickbay of the USS Crusader, taken from the Orion woman who is a clone of our Captain.
The blast from the destruction code in the DNA/RNA caused massive damage to the USS Crusader, surrounding ships, SB140, and subspace. As I explained in my last personal log."
She looked around from the console she sat at and sighed a bit, leaning against it. Medical personnel were preparing the Infirmary with trauma trays and whatnot. The starbase's own CMO was giving orders. She was merely just a guest there until they were given orders to return to the USS Crusader, which was nearing completion on repairs.
"Storm is stable and doing all right, though he is still a patient here. I myself am recovering still, after surgery, from my broken ribs and other injuries, I don't wish to delve into at this time. Jarani fared all right, not sustaining any serious injuries, which is surprising after I was hit by a support pylon.
Anyway, the entire senior staff and some other crewmembers from the USS Crusader met up in the Galaxy Bar & Grill a little while ago. I met up with Vicky and the new Chief Science Officer, Ensign Aiden Frost. The Infirmary is still abuzz about her detecting the EM wave before it hit us. It's very rare for someone as young and new to Starfleet as her to find out something like this. Sometimes, even veteran Starfleet Officers don't pick these things up immediately. Thank goodness for her attention to detail, or we'd all be dead. Thanks to her, no fatalities were reported."
A smile formed on her face and she stared down at the console's display screen. She was appending medical files for her crew on it.
"We hit it off pretty well. She is a really likable person. I did, however, feel strange around her, like I had 'butterflies in my stomach', as some Humans put it. I cannot wait to serve with her in the future."
She finished appending the current medical file she was on and went back to the USS Crusader crew manifest to choose the next file.
"During our conversation, she told me a little about herself, how her family wanted her in politics instead of Starfleet. Starfleet is a much more honorable route than politics. She seems way too honest to be a politician. I told her a little about myself too. Almost too much, actually.." Her cheeks tinged pink at the memory. "Before we could move on, Fleet Admiral Vanessa A. Lucifel came on the station-wide comm and told us to report to our stations. Apparently, the USS Striker reported an alien vessel that was heading toward us. We were ordered to report to our stations at yellow alert."
She stopped and looked around again, the medical officers now taking their positions. Her own medical officers were helping out as well.
"I feel uneasy about this, but we have a job to do."
"Computer, end log."

E'Lita was standing in the back of Sickbay with tons of new instruments, medications, and equipment they just received from Starbase 140 after their ship had completed its repair and refit.
"Computer, begin log."
"Chief Medical Officer's Personal Log, Stardate 63498.54 (April 15, 2387)."
She closed one of the bulkhead lockers that held some of the bigger instruments.
"Some modifications were made to Sickbay to make it run more efficiently. We now have a bit more room and much more equipment."
She opened a small crate of ampoules called Genericillin and grabbed a handful to begin placing them in the ampoule rack.
"In just a moment we will begin setting up the trauma area so that we can administer better medical care in case of confrontation and casualty. Although, I'm hoping we won't need to use our trauma area.."
She shook her head quickly and heaved a sigh, placing the last ampoule of Genericillin in its slot. She decided to shift her thoughts to happier ones.
"Ensign Aiden Frost.. She's been on my mind quite a lot since we met in the Galaxy Bar and Grill a few days ago. She's so funny, nice, charismatic.. And her smile.." Her face lit up. "It makes you feel so cared for. I usually don't like females unless I am in a male host, but she is the exception. I would like to get to know her better. I think she may feel the same, but I don't know.."
She stopped for a moment to hunt up another ampoule crate. She spotted one of Impedrizine and grabbed it, opening it.
"Ensign Frost called down to Sickbay to offer me assistance, but I knew that she was needed on the Bridge. She's a very bright young woman and indisposable on this ship, as not many other science officers have the knowledge that she does. I don't know how she does it either."
She scratched her head and continued to smile. Suddenly a flash of orange light filled Sickbay and she could see nothing else. When the light faded she could see nothing. She was blinded.
