This is for those wishing to post for Columbia during the period where she will be in drydock for upgrades to deal with the newest threat.
"Captain's personal log, stardate 67053.6:
Columbia's return to Starbase 140 has its positive and negative sides to it. I am wondering, though, about what we may find in the coming days about this new weapon being employed by the Tholians, and what unseen force has incited them to attack us for no apparent reason. I am relieved that we were able to find and rescue our comrades aboard the USS Federation. I truly don't want to see more lives lost or more of our ships destroyed, but it may unfortunately be inevitable... We will fight to save lives.
To say that Columbia's crew has pulled together well in a crisis is an understatement. Just a little over two weeks ago, we were a bunch of officers and enlisted personnel onboard a brand new Sovereign-class starship, and now, having seen what can be accomplished together, I have a profound sense of pride in each and every man and woman that I am privileged to serve with here.
I am glad to have been able to spend some time with two very dear friends, whose friendships have carried over from a previous lifetime surprisingly well. Admiral Vanessa Lucifel, who Brexen had worked closely with in engineering and anti-Borg weapons development - now the newly appointed commander of our fleet group. She used to tell Brexen that she was glad she had someone who would pull her out of bad situations, and I used to wonder if I wasn't there, who would provide that aid... I would like to think that she is greatly relieved to have her 'fiery-haired buddy' back in some way. She used to always want Brexen to call her by her initials, which are V.J. I'm not sure how to explain to her that in the Trill native language, to say the initials also sounds alot like a term of endearment, very similar to the Betazoid word 'imzadi'. I know this frustrated the admiral many times, but maybe if she knew the full reason, it might make sense.
As for Kestra Suder, now at the rank of captain... I'm not sure that words can begin to describe the shared feelings toward her... I was greatly relieved when we were able to rescue her and at least some of her crew from the USS Challenger. I'll admit, I was hoping to see what kind of fight she and her crew had in them during the attack, but fate does sometimes play cruel tricks... I have greatly enjoyed her company during our maiden voyage, and find that I'll miss it when she leaves for her new command, assuming she accepts it.
While Columbia undergoes what I'm going to call a 'wartime retrofit', I intend to see what help my crew can be to the starbase personnel with their damage control efforts, if shore leave plans have not been finalized. I won't make it an order, but I'll put it before the engineering crews as an option if they want to keep busy...
Computer, end log entry..."

Having taken the time to get a meal with some of his officers in the crew lounge, Crio strode out onto the bridge once the turbolift doors opened. He stayed near the back of the bridge, near one of the science stations.
"Open a channel to the starbase."
Crio sounded a bit somber, knowing that their return meant saying goodbye to two very dear friends, something he didn't like having to do.
He waited for the confirmation that the channel was open.
"Starbase 140, this is USS Columbia, requesting permission to dock."

Grateful for the response, he perks up a bit and listens to the voice on the other end of the comm line.
Captain Ijoula, This is Commander Drek.....you have permission to enter the docking ring and please dock at station #7.
and Captain...it's good to have you home again and congratulation on your mission. I will inform Admiral Gunn and Captain Morgan of your docking.
Catching a brief pause, he listens as the voice of Commander Drek continues.
By the way is Admiral Lucifel onboard your ship....if so, I will contact Captain Gomez to inform her to dock the Federation in Station #2.
"Thank you, commander. I share your sentiments, and am glad we made it back safely and that we have a base still standing to come back to. I was overjoyed that we found our sister ship in one piece. I'll send word to Captain Gomez about giving you a list of their needs. I do know that she'll need a new warp core, at the very least.
As for Admiral Lucifel, she is here on our bridge. We'll cut the Federation loose so she can head for the docking port.
Has there been any more intel on the Tholian movements in the area, or reports of that new doomsday weapon being used against any other friendlies?"
He would then nod toward Thorne to cut the tractor beam, and then toward Hanes to bring them in gently.

Captain..... things here have been quiet over the last 72 hours and we have gotten no new reports of any action from the Tholian in any other Federation sectors. As for the weapon, we may have come up with something that may shield the effect of it. But I think Admiral Gunn will go over that with you and Admiral Lucifel.
And there is one last thing...we now have a new Chief of Engineering...Lt.Commander William Smith...Just got here a few days ago. Been told he a top line engineer and by the way...he'll tell you that too...
Drek try not to smile on his last remark.
Once more good to have you home.

He checks his instruments on his console, as the Station locks on the both ships. The Starbase has lock on to us sir, and bringing us in.

He smiled a bit from the conversation with Commander Drek, happy that they are still there.
"Bridge to all hands, this is the captain speaking. We are on final approach to Starbase 140. Prepare for docking maneuvers..." He thinks for a moment about something he wishes to add.
"In the last two weeks, we have seen a great deal of action, including a rather bumpy launch that undoubtedly put stress on everyone onboard. I realize this has been a difficult maiden voyage, and although I am not immune to the same stresses you have likely felt, I wish to thank you all for your devotion to your duties, to your crewmates, and to the finest traditions of Starfleet. I am very proud to be able to serve with each and every one of you, and I hope to be able to get to know each of you better. Ijoula out."
With that, he gently pats Hanes' shoulder, and also Thorne's shoulder, hoping to silently reassure them, and to thank them for a job well done on their first mission.
He steps back toward the center seat and sits down, to await for the final docking to occur, and looks toward Elbrun, Kestra, and also Admiral Lucifel, as if silently asking for their thoughts on being back home.

She was in the Transporter Room with Captain Suder as she was discussing plans.
Captain, I want you in the meeting on SB 140 as well. If I was you, I would start making a list of prospects for First Officer.

She too is in the tranporter room, having reluctantly having to leave her two closest friends Crio and Brexen Ijoula. She wondered if anything would deepen between her and Crio, but then only time will tell
She focused on the Admiral as she spoke to her about the meeting on SB 140, advising her to make a list of prospective First Officers. She nods at Vanessa "I'll be at the meeting and I'll keep eye out out for any officers that would appeal to me for First Officer." She thought if Brexen were still alive, she would choose her, but also at the same time, if she were alive, Brexen would have her own command. "I am pleased that I am getting a second chance at Command."

(Back post)
He looks at Elbrun, and pats her shoulder.
"Would you mind taking care of the rest of the docking details? I want to see off our guests."
-----------------
A few moments after Admiral Lucifel and Captain Suder entered the transporter room, he stepped in behind them.
"Kestra, it might be a good idea to interview potential candidates for first officer, to make sure their personalities compliment your own. It's a good idea when both the captain and executive officers can get along well... or at least learn to get along well."
He looks toward Vanessa, grateful that she survived that last mission, and does have a few words for her when appropriate.
He looks then back at Kestra, and the emotions coming off him are of concern for her safety, and the survival of a deep, deep friendship, something that quite often is a rarity where non-Trill races are involved.

Commander Elbrun looked up as she felt a hand on her shoulder, looking into the eyes of Captain Ijoula. She nodded, with a smile, telling him that she didn't mind taking care of the docking details. She knew how important the guests were to the Captain.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Kestra turned as Captain Ijoula came into the transporter room with Vanessa and herself. She smiled at him as he spoke to her. nodding as he finished "I agree. The ability to work well with a first officer is one of the best things aboard a ship. I feel if the Capptain and Commander can work well together then I believe that will filter down amongst the crew. I shall pick the best candidate that would compliment me and would be the best choice for the ship"
She glanced at Vanessa to see if she had anything to add. She glanced back at Crio, feeling concern and worry, directed at her, as if Crio is afraid that she is going to go out and somehow get herself killed. She felt his feelings. He considered her a very fond friend but that seemed as far as his personal feelings went. She mentally nodded at herself. If she wanted a lover, she presumed she would have to look elsewhere

Not caring that their mutual superior officer was present, he steps closer to Kestra, and takes her hand into his gently, and gently pulls her toward him in a hug. Afterward, in a combination of his own feelings, and Brexen's shared feelings, he gives her a kiss on the cheek, to make sure she understood the feelings and urges that were running rampant.
As he forces himself to pull back away, his eyes meet hers, and the look said ~I'm just a comm away...~

She looked at Crio curiously as he took her hand and looked surprised as he pulled her into a hug, letting the feelings of Brexen and mostly Crio wash over her senses. She knew his feelings of friendhip and the underlying sense that it could easily be more then just friends. She reveled in such feelings of friendship and love
She felt his kiss on her cheek and she smiled. Thier eyes met again and she could virtually hear his words in her head that he's only a comma away. He gave a sliht nod of understanding, showing in her eyes that she too is only a comm away and would welcome a call from him at anytime

Vanessa can feel the electricity in the air between Kestra and Crio as they stand on the Transporter. The Chief gets the orders as the SB140 is ready to recieve them, and energizes as they beam over.
