To inaugurate a new trivia section here, I thought it might be fitting to use one of the most popular episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation for trivia.
During a viewers' choice marathon in late 1994, both parts of this episode received the top picks among fan favorites.
"Tbe Best of Both Worlds" won Emmy awards for "Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series" and "Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series." It was also nominated for at least two other awards.
Guest cast for this episode include:
George Murdock as Admiral J.P. Hanson
Elizabeth Dennehy as Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Shelby
Whoppi Goldberg as Guinan
Colm Meaney as Chief Miles O'Brien

Trivia from Part 1
=/\= Receiving a distress call from an outer colony world, what does an away team, led by Commander Riker find upon investigating the New Providence colony?
=/\= Admiral J.P. Hanson and Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Shelby come aboard the Enterprise with disturbing news, providing a strong hypothesis as to who had recently visited the New Providence colony. Implicating the Borg, how long has Starfleet Command been anticipating an attack by them?
=/\= The reason for Commander Shelby's presence on this mission is because she is an expert on what species?
=/\= Admiral Hanson also gives another opportunity for Commander Riker to get a command of his own. Which starship does he offer for Riker?
---
*BONUS: The following question goes with the previous one about command opportunities for Riker.
=/\= Two previous command opportunites had been offered to Will Riker. Which starships had he been offered before, according to "The Arsenal of Freedom" and "The Icarus Factor" (TNG)?
---
=/\= In a desperate search to come up with a suitable offense against the Borg, what component of the Enterprise undergoes modification to become an incredibly powerful weapon?
=/\= When the Borg do reach the Enterprise, they are remarkably specific about whom they want. Much to the surprise of the senior staff and Commander Shelby, who do the Borg want, and later succeed at abducting?
=/\= What new transporter procedure do we get to witness in this episode, as referred to by Chief O'Brien?
=/\= An away team, led by Commander Shelby, finds a way to disable the Borg cube. After destroying a few Borg distribution nodes and fighting off several Borg drones, what do they discover about the missing crewmember from the Enterprise?
---------------------
QUOTES: Tell me who said these.
"Coordinates verified sir. You're at the center of town."
"The truth is.... Hell.... We are not ready."
"That's what I'm here to find out."
"Got another King in the hole, eh Data?"
"The only component of the Enterprise designed to channel that much energy at controlled frequencies."
"Fluctuate phaser resonance frequencies. Random settings... Don't give them time to adapt."
"Something of an old tradition... touring a ship before a battle."
"If you can't make the big decisions... I suggest you make room for someone who can."
"Freedom is irrelevant. Self-determination is irrelevant. You must comply.... Death is irrelevant. Your archaic cultures are authority driven..."
"We're in business."
------------------------------------
I have put several questions down. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE is welcome to take a shot at these questions. Do not feel that you have to answer all of them. Feel free to pick and choose.
Enjoy!
