I have just been informed that the refit is coming along nicely. As I really don't know the extent of what happened to the ship that warrants the refit (Star fleet seems to be very hush hush about this) I am monitoring the technical aspects of the refit.

Taking a look around her, she seems to be a great ship and I've come to learn alot about her in the past few days.

I am personally working on the development of her technical manual. I will just have to add the refit parts in later

By doing this, it will ensure that I and any others who wish to read it will know the ship and her capabilities. I for one need it.

ACH, I just found out that this ship is 15yrs old and Starfleet wants ME to keep her running. Hope the refit was worth it all. I may end up eventually overhauling alot of areas but right now my main concern is just keeping her in one piece and spaceworthy.

Starfleet command gave me notice about a new assistant officer for engineering. Her name is Mira and she is a female Trill. I had the chance to briefly interact with her during our refit mishap. She's a little spunky and I noticed she has somewhat of a...a nack for slightly questioning my orders. But seeing her in action I have no concerns that she will be great at her job. I'm slightly worried about the trill part of her though. In the academy, I've met some trills that thought they were better than everyone else because of their wisdom. I just hope Mira isn't like that.

Chief Engineers personal log

My first mission on board the Avenger almost ended in a catastrophy. Ever since leaving SB140 the first time, I knew she wasn't ready for any type of battle but no one seemed to care. It's like my department doesn't even exist.

I'm bruised up, I don't remember anything after the torpedo fired, and every muscle in my body aches. The doctor said it'll pass over time but I was lucky to be alive.

The last fight with the Tholians should have ended our lives on the Avenger. The make shift anti matter bomb that I created to hopefully destroy the mother Tholian ship seemed to work but it took down the launch tube along with it. Scratch that up to battle structual fatique. The warp drive hardly ever working was due to the last refit not being totally completed and us having to go straight into battle.

And now the Avenger has three weeks for a refit. I was assigned to late for the last refit but this time, I plan on being there all the way.
