Born : 2328 on Merrlund ( prime planet of the Merr star system Phealon Empire )
Raised as a member of the Phealon Aristocracy he was educated at the Imperial Phealon Military Academy on Phealon prime. Commissioned an officer in the Phealon Imperial Navy as a Lt of Marines he went on to get a degree in electronic engineering and Warp physics. Upon graduation he was assigned as an engineer in the Phealon Marines.
2361 : assigned to mission on Clestor IV. The mission was to build a listening post to monitor Romulan and Klingon transmissions. The Garrison was attacked by a new species of intelligent beings who were vampiric in nature. 75% of the garrison was killed by these creatures before Oz was able to devise a way to counter their hypnotic powers and masking abilities. He was unable to negotiate with the creatures as they viewed all other living beings as food only, being unworthy of any other status.
2362: Ozmunde's wife leaves him for another man greatly affecting him and his relationships with his two sons.
2365: The Dominion moves to take power in Phealon Empire. Ozmunde and his Father oppose the political movement called the National Alliance of Science and Industry ( NASI ) the front organization for the Dominion. Ozmunde's two sons join the NASI and denounce their grandfather for ant-government activities. Ozmunde shoots his own sons to keep his personal honor because of their shame.
2370 - 2375 : the Dominion War
As an Aristocrat, Oz feels he must defend his nation, even though he does not agree with the government's politics. He is part of a project that develops a device similar to the Genesis devise. He is on the Imperial Phealon heavy cruiser Defiant transporting the devise along with all of the research materials. The ship was part of a convoy which was attacked by Romulan forces. Oz was one of the few surviving officers on the Defiant, he beached the wrecked ship on an asteroid after getting most of the crew off in the life pods. Unfortunately for Oz his life pod was picked up by the Romulans.
2375 to 2381: Oz spends these many years in captivity. The Romulans try very hard to get him to divulge the where abouts of the Defiant and her precious cargo of Genesis materials. He never breaks down finding the strength he needs in his faith. He is a Roman Catholic and finds the strength to resist in his faith.
2381: Oz is Finlay repatriated to a much reduced Phealon Empire. He finds that he can no longer return to an empty home with all of the bad memories that it contains
2382: Oz joins Star Fleet going to the Star Fleet Academy at San Francisco on Earth
