After leaving the command deck Max gets on the TL and heads down to Deck 27. This and Deck 28 have both been remodel with all the newest medical equipment that Starfleet has. This will be his first time down there and want to get the feel of the place. Since he will be starting to spent half his time down here. StarFleet hasn't sent him a new Chief Medical Office to replace the old that just left the Starbase a week earlier.
As the door open on the TL and he walks out. Max looks out and see lots of things going on. It a very busy place these last few week. That is with the last of the equipment refitting and many more Starfleet Medical personal coming daly it more like a mad house them a hospital. As he starts to walk about many of the doctors and nurses nods and say a few words with the Commodore. Many have serve with the Commodore on other ships and posts. And they have ask to come here to be with him once more.
As he makes his way to the the CMO office and stop into the Head Nurse Office first. Setting behind the desk is a blonde hair, blue eye Lt. working on her console.
"So looks what the wind has blowen my way? Lt. Stefani"
Max said as he now is lean again the open door.
"And who the ....."
The Lt. looks up from her console and her eyes brighten as she see who it is...with that she get up and run over to him and give his a big hug.
"Maxxxx....It's about time you show that face of your down here. I though you got all Starfleet on us little people. Once you become a Commodore"
Max return her hug and lets her go..as the Lt stand next to him.
"Well Rose, I was just reading over those who have been transfere here and I see your name on one of the list...And the list just happen to be three week old....Sorry about that."
Rose smiles as she is verey happy to see Max...who she has serve with for many years and has come to think of him as her father.
"Please Sir..have a sit and some coffee...that if you have some time to talk with me"
Max takes a seat and looks around her office.
"You still take you coffee black..is that right Sir?"
"Aye Rose....black and hot"
With that the Commodore and Lt. both sit back and start to talk over old times. This is the first time since Max has been aboard the station he is starting to feel at home.

After receiving word from the Crusader that they have 12 wounded survivors from the Romulan freigher, Max head to sickbay to get his people ready for their new guest.
Before heading down to deck 27 he call down to may sure that he has all the doctors who know anything about Romulan medicine and they were to meet him in CMO office in 5 minutes. He also wants head Nurse Stefani there too.
After this is done Max leave his Ready Room and makes his way to the closes TL.
Entering the TL, he calls out deck 27...sickbay. On the way down he thinks about the talk he had with Admiral Lucifel last night and how this sector of space maybe turning in on giant power keg.
One off the TL..There are three doctors waiting for him. Two are Vulcans and the other is a Andorian. They follow him to the the CMO office or his office till the new CMO is assign. Waiting in the office is Lt. Stefani. She tell them to follow her as she speak.
Commodore..I have you conferene room is ready...Doctor Anderson and Lee are already waiting with.
The Commodore and the other follow Lt. Stefani in his private conference room. Once into the room, Max ask Lt. Stefani to close the door.
Please...those who are not sitting do so. we have alot to go over and sooo little time to go over it.
First of all I am Commodor Maxwell Gunn...I know both Doctor Carl Anderson and Paul Lee. and head nurse Rose Stefani. He now wait for other to speak. one of the two vulcans female now speak.
I'm am Doctor T'Sai and this is Doctor T'Pel. Our medical background is in Romulan medicine.

Max now looks over at the Andorian.
Doctor....
I am Doctor Shrelev...Your new Chief of Surgery...and yes I have operative on Romulans. So I do know how they work.
smiles as he nods to Dr. Shrelev
Before I start..I will like to welcome you all to StarBase 140. I am sorry I haven't had time to get down here and welcome you all in person. But this will need to do for now. So lets get to the matter at hand.
You must have quess by now that we have some wounded Romulans coming here. They are what left of a crew on a freigher that was attack by a unknown ship.
I only know that some are more injury then other. What I would like to do is islate them from the other. I been told that the new Islation Ward is ready on Deck 28. That is where we will place them for now. We have have 3 hours people to get what we need down there and ready for our "guest". You five need to be ready for them. Take what every personal and equipment you need and head down there. I can't tell you how important this is. Alot is riding on this. We need to get them well and talking before they are taken from us by their Goverment. So if you don't have any questions... Please head for deck 28.
After 20 minutes passes and the door opens to Max's confence room and all the doctors leave...heading down to Islation Ward. With only Max and Lt. Stefani in the room.
Well Max..you still have it...smiles... You speak to them and they follow. Wasn't sure about the Vulcans....but once you answer their questions...you had them eaten out of your hand.
Rose...you can't believe how I long to be back here as CMO...not this d**n Commander job...I am and will alway be a doctor first. And in the immoral words of the late great Doctor McCoy..... "d**n it...I'm a Doctor, Rose...not a Starbase Commander"
They both laughs as they leave his office. But deep inside Max know that it going to be a very rough going in the next few months.

After getting of the turbolift he is met by Head Nurse Stefani
Looks like some of your boy and girls had some fun up there in the "Galaxy". I have 10 walking wounded and a few more transported down here from a Doctor...
She looks on her PADD
Doctor Jarani.....she called for a triage kit and medical kit. She did a great job on some of the wound on th spot. And by way, we also have the Galaxy owner down here too. He alittle beat up...looks like someone used his head as a golf ball and were teeing off on it. But the little guy will live. If you want to see him...Frek is in Biobed 11 in the big ward.
Hey Max..this place is starting to feel like StarBase 29....smiles... Remember those days went the fleet stop in..we always call that first night .."Bucket of Blood" night.
And for the first time tonight Max cracks a smile
Yes Rose I remember...A young doctor or nurse could learn alot of medicals those night. Those were some fun days back on Station 29. But now I am the not just the head of Med here..I am also head of the whole station. I still have a few fires to put out tomorrow with alot of poeple here. And I bet someone has place a call to Starfleet Command too about all this. So let go to see how Mr. Frankie is doing.
Max and Head Nurse Stefani are still talking about the old as they head to Ward #3.

Frankie is laying back in his Biobed as he spots the Commodore and the Heads Nurse heading to him.
Here you come...just the human I want to see!!! You'r going to pay. Bad enough you storm trooper break up my place...but I was also attack by one...I think.
I am going to call the Ferengi Alliance and the Heads of the Federation once I am out of here...And sue..I sueing everone. I may never walk again.
As Frankie keep going on..Commodore Gunn is getting his headache back again.
After about 10 minutes of running his mouth and telling Gunn..what going to happen..Gunn had enougth!

Nurse Stefani now know that Frankie may have cross the line with the Commodore. Max doesn't take well to threats. Plus she could see the back of Max's neck turning red. Now that trouble.
Nurse Stefani..would you please leave me alone with the patient.
Rose nods and steps away from the biobed. Frankie is now looking up at the Commodore like he has him. But Max now turns and has a looks the ferengi never seem and would bet he doesn't want to too.
Now listen you little rat face ferengi...you don't go threating me or anyone on the stations to start with!
As for you bar...I ready don't care if they burn the place down. I didn't want you here but your here. And all I had from you is trouble.
Frankie is now getting it for all Max problems over the last month..the Ferengi or not.
So you better listen and listen good..... First, you write me a reporting telling me what you seem. Not what you been told,but seem. Second..you will send me a lists of all your repairs and i will pay for them. And just to make sure you are on the up and up with this, I will sent Lt. Kramer down to sure things go right.
And if you don't like this then here the next step. I will have my red shirts down at you place every minutes of every day. I will frak with you till you will want to leave this place. And if that not enough..I promise to find out where you have those ratty little fingers into here....and that a promise...Do I make myself clear here Frankie!!!!

Frankie is now looking at one mad human and thinks it better to cut his loses now. Plus he doesn't need to Commodore coming down on him. Not good business.
Well Commodore..I don't think I have much to say about this matter now. I will sent you my report on the fight and what "I seem". Plus I will going over all the damages that I have at the bar..and Please send Lt. Kramer down...Alway could used the help. I assure that you have all parties that were involue in the fight lock up.

OOO by the way..I will not be press charge against anyone since I spent most of the fight face down on my own floor out cold.
And last..How long will I need to be close?
Max looks at Frankie.

Since Max has not hear from the Rear Admiral, he heads down the Ward 27 to cleck on what going on in sickbay.
The first things he does once on the deck is call together all the new or interns...and does a walkthru of the general wards on that deck and ask questions of the new doctors. With him at all time is Head Nurse Stefani. Who find this funny and those she never smile..as she watches Doctor Gunn grill the young doctors on ever and anything that happen on the wards...not just the patients. But her main reason of being with them is to take notes for Dr. Gunn.
Dr. Meru....who is a female intern just getting here from Bajor. I hear you help out the other night with thou who were sent down here from the "misunderstnading" at the Galaxy. I would like to thank you for staying on longer then your shift and help with thou wounded. Between you and Doctor Jaran of the Crusader..you both handel the situation in a very professor manner. And that what I am looking for in my new doctors here... looks at Dr. Meru

Once breadfast is done, Hax head right to the Medical decks to meet with all the heads of the different department. Getting off the TL, he is meet by Lt. and Head Nurse Stenfani.
Good morning Rose...how are things going here.
Well Admiral...we are holding our own. But I do think this morning meeting isn't going to be a happy one.
As the two walks down the corridor, Lt. Stenfani start going over what he will be hearing this morning. Max now think it was good that he had the exter strong coffee this morning. Just before they walk into the meeting Max taps his commbadge...
Captain Naur...I will be in a meeting with heads of all the Medical Deptment. If I am not out in 3 hours...please come get me...Over.

Getting off the tl on deck 27 Max starts walksing to his suite of offices.
Nures William...I want you to get Head Nurse Stefani and ask he to come to my office. Plus see what doctor is on duty for the lab. I need a tech team and a doctor stat.
With that Max walks into his private office first...gets himself a cup of coffee and heads to his conference room and wait for Lt. Stefani.

Two hour has passed since he has taken the test and gone over his dept. meeting with the heads of all the medical dept.
Well Rose I think that went over well...do you?
Max laughs and Rose just rounds her eyes.
If you say so...but you better cleck behind you and see if you have anything left back there. They were chewing pretty hard on you today. But I must say you did hod your own today.
Rose...you remember back on the Washington...and Old Dr.Blossom was CMO.
Yes Max..I do..and if I remember right..you were a big plain in his butt.
Yep remember that...But now I finaly know what he was going through...this join is just too much for one person..Add to the point that I also running this station too.
Stop...I don't have any crying towels here...
they both start laughing and then Rose speak..
You do know...You have one hell of a XO...I been doing some clecking on our Captain Naru....been tols she is in line for her own ship. So Max try not to screw this up with the good Captain...please.
Rose now move behind Max chair and start to rubs his neck...

I promise you little sister...So how about going to the mess hall and getting ourself some lunch?
