Hearing the Chief Engineers report, she returns with a friendly.
Affirmative Engine Room, I'll inform the Captain. She then turns to Rear Admiral Lucifel.
We have full Warp capability sir. we are near the relay station. Only 98,000 kilometers away. We also have a small Ion trail that direction. Should I set course Captain?

Chief Engineer Reul looks at the console and sighs as the light stays green as the ship jumps into warp. He looks back to see Mira coming over to him, straightening her uniform. He smiles slightly as she approaches. " We have alot of work ahead of us. She'll hold up for now but I want a thorough diagnostics of all ship systems. Could you check the phaser and torpedo status and strength? We may need to boost that up a bit. I have a feeling that we're gonna need that. Get me a status as soon as possible. I'll be in my quarters."
Heading towards the doors, he stops short of them and turns to face Mira..."Not bad for a assistant" he says, winks and heads out of the doors and into his quarters.

She listens implicity to his orders. Yet her heart sinks a bit knowing she checked those systems a few hours before they left Starbase 140. Her symbiant Mordak wanted to scream in frustration. He rather spend his time in Frek's oogling scantily clad females dancing. She shakes her head in frustration, and notice the Ensign and states.
Sorry sir, seems Mordak is bothersome today, but consider it done. I'll have a full report in about an hour.
She then looks to 2 idle crewmen.
Parks, Juraal. Bring some isolinear taps, and sealers. Oh and I need a phased ocular adjuster for the phaser emmiters.
The two start fumbling aroundfor the equipment as she sighs.

Deragon nods, "Go for it Heidi, and Cai be ready for anything we need to be ready to engage who ever destroyed that ship."

Aye sir, bringing it about.
The Avenger pitches a bit as she begins to close on the Relay Station. Heidi continues her scans but as they get 10 kilometers from the station, the ion trail disappears.
Sir....the Ion trail....just stopped.

He watched, from his seat, as Duvall turned the Avenger around and headed for the relay station. When she reported the Ion trail just stopped, he raised his brow "Stopped? An Ion trail cannot just stop. Can it? I would scan for any cloaked vessels in the area"

She begins a Tachyeon sweep.
Nothing. No Tacheyon emissions, no radiation trail. Just background radiation, and of course that from the Relay station. Only the the Reman possess a cloak that advance, as well as the Romulans sir. But out side of that. nearly every race encountered had some kind of energy reading. either they are gone, or they are far advance then any species we have encountered.

If I may Commander. We could use our Buzzard collectors to spread anti protons. They would be drawn to any energy source localized for 60 kilometers. If they are still in the area, it should be able to attract them.

She finishes up the diagnostic on the Tactical systems, as she wipes her brow, and Crewman Parks gives her a hand to stand. They would gather up the tools.
OK take this equipment back to the Engine room, I'll go tell Jon we're done
Parks would speak up. Ma'am? Didn't we calibrate all these systems before we left
We sure did.
Begging you pardon Ma'am, but why do it all over again. The weapons performed perfectly before?
Because, if they were so perfect we wouldn't need to produce speed we can't reach Parks. Beside the targeting relays were off by .0873 millimeters and we wouldn't of caught that if we didn't do a second diagnostic. Now get going, and get some grub. Let security handle the rest.[/b]
With that she strolled down the hall to the Turbo Lift. She take a sgort trip to Decj 2, and walks to Ensign Ruehl's quarters and presses the Door chime.[/color]

Sitting at his desk, Reul sips at a cup of coffee while looking at schematics of the ship. Hearing the chime he continues to stare at the schematic..."Come in" he says and presses a button on his console. He then begins to speak into the recorder..."The warp alignment after the refit went well, however, due to the rush and need of the engines I did not accomplish what I would have liked to and that is on hold. I asked Mira for a diagnostics on the tactical systems to determine the power elevations and believe that they're not going to be within my specifications...."

Hearing Jon, she enters to find him sitting going over the Avengers specs. She hands him the PADD with the diagnostic as he speaks, and offer.
The problem is, every time a Defiant class is refit we always reset it to design specification. Antares Yard in 2384 decided to leave those settings to as the arrived. But then came the Cameron incident. Where the warp core breached because they didn't pay attention to the micro fractures in the warp core. So I propose this. We know the warp core is re manufactured and worn correct? so why not use a Defiant class of the same age as it control to match With that she produces a second PADD with the last settings of the USS Defiant.

He watched as Duvall performed a Tachyon sweep of the area and reported that she got nothing in the scans, other then back ground radiation, and that was from the really station. he thought for a few moments, as Duvall deduced that they were gone or they're too far advanced for sensors to detect them
He thought they were gone.. somehow then he heard the Vulcan commander speak up, suggesting that , using the Buzzard Collectors, we could lay out a spread of anti-protons. She explained that they would be attracted to any local power source within 60 kilometers
He gave a nod, and a bit of a smile to the Vulcan Commander "That's a good suggestion, Commander. I'm glad you thought of it" he said with amusement, knowing she most likely wouldn't get the humor "Coordinate with Lt Duvall to set up the Buzzard collectors to emit a antiproton field"

She begins to configure her console, and transfers controls to the Ops stations
This will provide a 360 degree burst in all directions. I think tactical should have no problem picking them up.

Initiating anti proton spread. She taps the controls to a corresponding trill of lights.

A purple haze of plasm streams forth from the ships Buzzard collectors drifting in a spherical shape outward in all directions from the Avenger, but only contact made is with the relay station. No signs of any thing else.
