Tell me...have you faced these prejudices before?

I would be lying if I said never. I admit I have what they call a "Know it all' streak in my. It's not my programming, it's just me Admiral. I see something I can correct I often try to help, but as you can imagine, some tend to think I'm taking their job away from them.

I can understand that actually. The USS Voyager EMH encountered that in the 2370's, but in time as the crew got to know him, he became part of the crew. Have you ever experienced that Rayna?

She fidgits a bit answering this question.
Other then a few instances at the Academy....no I can't say I did. But I wish to prove myself Admiral. Captain Data told me once, that Starfleet want to remove him from the Enterprise, and make him a project for study. Not an individual, but a tool. A piece of equipment. Admiral, I know I am no different from you, or any other on this ship. All I ask is a chance to prove myself. To write that Personal record so even if I don't last here on the Constitution, I will atleast have a reason why I'm, in an articlate unit with probes all over my body.

Hearing her words, she understood the passion and emotion in each word she spoke. She looked at the PADD before her and grimmace a bit.
Computer The computer trills. In state Ensign Rayna Maddox.....wait. An Ensign as a Chief Medical officer? Not on my ship. Promote Ensign Rayna Maddox to the Rank of Lieutenant, and assign her as our Chief Medical Officer. The computer trills a bit more. Lieutenant Rayna Maddox has been assigned to Chief Medical Officer. The Admiral rises a bit an shake her hand. Congratulations Doctor. I advise you to check in with CPO Tambu. Oh, and take a tour of the ship. Get to know your fellow crew mates. Your dismissed.

Dorian takes a stroll down the corridor to sickbay. As the door opens she spot CPO Tambu.
So did you meet our new Chief Medical Officer?

Working on setting up a diagnostic bed, as he turns to see Commander Vatto.
Greetings Commander. Yes I did, and I'm not impressed. Is this star fleet joke to become gods or what? Just warn me if my job is in jeopardy.

Somewhat taken by his reply.
As a Thallon, I would of never figured you to be so passionate about the subject. Have you been talking to Lt Mitchen? she chuckled.
Well I assure you, your job is not on the line, and that it wasn't an easy decision for the Admiral to make. Besides, I thought you didn't like the Mark V Holograms?

Whats to like about them? You get your choice of 256 established medical specialist, but they all have the same dry humore, corny puns, and lackluster bedside manner. So you replaced it with another machine. If you want to call it replacing. I bet them two could have a grand conversation.

Frustrated by his attitude her expression became stern.
Well then, sink this into you Thinking Chief. She is the Chief Medical officer on this ship. Like it or not, and will be treated like any other crew member on this ship. If you truly feel that you cannot perform under these circumstances, I am sure the Admiral will find you a position some where else in Starfleet to serve. And I will be giving her the recommendations on where that will be.

Knowing her tone, he reconsiders the words he chosen.
Yes ma'am. Please forgive me. I will....keep that in mind.

Having gotten settled in, she decides to go to her duties on the bridge. Entering the nearest turbolift she calls for the bridge.
Several moments later, she feels the lift slow and stop. As the doors open, she finds herself on the rather expansive bridge. She exits the lift and looks around in awe for a moment, before making her way to the captain's ready room. She rings the chime as she stands before the doors.

Hearing the door chime she says. Enter!
She lifts her head from her PADD as the young woman enters. She recognizes her immediately.
Commander Mileke. Thank you for dropping by. Please have a seat. We have little time, and alot to do. I hope you found you Quarters, and the rest of the ship acceptable. Granted, she's big, but she is also three ships in one.
She shidts a bit as she awaits her response.

She steps in when the doors open, and hears the admiral's response.
"Commander Mileke. Thank you for dropping by. Please have a seat. We have little time, and alot to do. I hope you found you Quarters, and the rest of the ship acceptable. Granted, she's big, but she is also three ships in one."
She sits down when prompted to, and watches her.
"She's alot bigger than I thought. And the lieutenant who escorted me proved to be an extremely conversational companion along the way.
My quarters are admittedly bigger than I had thought at first, but I am fond of large spaces, so there shouldn't be a problem there. And I read that this ship can separate into three separate and independent sections during battle. I look forward to that unique tactical advantage and challenge, ma'am."
She caught onto the part about having little time, so she decided to get right to what their mission is.
"You did say we have little time, and much to do. May I ask what our mission involves?"
